handy chat - TINK labs

 

Problem:

One of the feature we offered was a chat app that allowed travelers to communicate with each other, in the same city, if both ends had a handy.

However, the feature itself was not used as often and a lot of users, specifically female users were not too keen on using the chat feature.

We took this as an opportunity to switch up the feature for a messaging platform between guests and the concierge of the hotel they were staying in.

Design & Solution:

The new chat app’s focus was mainly a chat platform to communicate with the front desk.

We offered a new sign up section that allowed guests to join the chat community if they desired.

The chat app worked along side a chat portal that was used by hotel concierge or front desk.

We believe the new chat was a way to facilitate communication between guests and concierge. Perfect for the users who hate calling or the users who were less fluent in speaking english or the local language.

We wanted to eventually also allow ads to be shown on the chat screen with their offers and discounts.

We recreated the chat pages to allow a more familiar chat interface such as WhatsApp, WeChat and Messenger.
